Ancient Biblical Resins, Herbs, and Plants

Scientific Name:  Liquidambar styraciflua       

Country of Origin:  Turkey

 

Storax resin is yielded by the storax tree, which grows up 10 meters (33 ft.) in height. The resin is harvested using a tool upon the trunk and collecting the resulting resin flow. The resin is dried, cleaned and cooked and extracted with alcohol to produce pure Storax resin.

 

We currently are unable to locate a source of pure storax resin.  We are now offering storax bark.  This storax bark is very easy to work with and has a beautiful aroma without the petro-chemical smell often found in the resin.

Storax produces a sweet, flowery, balsam like, intense, slightly grassy fragrance when used in mixtures in small amounts and burned. You can easily make incense pellets with Storax balsam too.  Please note:  Pure storax has a petro-chemical smell in its raw form.  It is when blended with other ingredients in the proper amount that its beauty comes forth.
