White Savory (Organic)
Scientific Name: Micromeria fruticosa Country of Origin: Israel Distillation Method: Steam Distillation Plant Part Used: Aerial Safety: Oral toxin and abortifacient (due to pulegone content).
White Savory essential oil is different than winter or summer savories. It has a minty aroma.
White Savory is similar to Pennyroyal as it contains a chemical called pulegone. However, White Savory contains less pulegone than Pennyroyal and may be a little safer to use. It has been used EXTERNALLY for repelling insects, an expectorant, antimicrobial and anti-fungal.
In addition to pulegone the other main chemical constituents found in this oil are: D-Limonene, Piperitone, Mentalactone, Guaiacol, Menthol, and Mentone.
